Today is clearance day, yaaay….no waking up by 5. I slept like a baby today, and woke up around 10. So after I had my bath and ate, then I set off to go to my local government area. Today is the beginning of a new chapter in my life. My first day as a working class citizen. Woke up a little tired, 6am to be precise, had my bath, wore my clothes and set out to take public transport to my place of work. On getting to obalende, I was dropped before the normal bus-stop and I missed the way. I panicked a little, but on asking around I was able to set myself right back on track. I got to the office around 7.30, waiting eagerly to impress my new colleagues; my hands were itching for some work. Today, was not kind at all. I woke up as early as 7am, with one thing on my mind which was how I would get my account number for my nysc service year. I was assigned to a bank, one of the failing banks in Nigeria soon to be sold.

I registered with them about 5 days ago, and I was yet to receive my account number. Infuriated, I thought to myself “ I have to give this people a piece of my mind, it was going to go down in their office”. On getting there, I registered my complain to the customer relationship manager and unsurprisingly I was calm like a —- even upon my mouth making…lol….i am an introvert, so what can I say?. So, I just got my first ever job few days to becoming 21 years of age. It is with a pension fund, a dream come true. My first real job experience, although it is for my Nysc year.  I had always purred at the thought of working in a pension fund or mutual fund, because my main aim is to be a portfolio manager, and this was inline with it. Then again, I was scared. I was quivering at the thought of resuming work the following Wednesday. What if they didn’t like me?, what if I was too slow learning on the job?, what if I just mess things up?. These were the thoughts running through my mind.
